One aspect I overlooked recently was the impact on Medicare cost in the year of a Roth Conversion. It needs to be considered in the equation of this exercise!

Other considerations: Increased Social Security taxation, bumping up tax bracket, income going over Roth contribution limit, disqualifying Obamacare tax credit, disqualifying QBI deduction

Under the CARES Act 2020 RMD need not be taken. Why not take equivalent and convert to a ROTH?
